Zifm Stereo takes radio to Chitungwiza at the popular Chikwanha family joint.

LOCAL radio station Zifm Stereo is taking its broadcasts to the people in a series of programmes lined up for the country’s populous suburbs.

The programme kicked off on Saturday with the radio station’s team of talented disc jockeys serenading followers in Chitungwiza at the popular Chikwanha family joint.

In the morning the station had done its broadcasts from Nando’s in Avondale where presenter Kimble Rogers interviewed musicians Pastor G, Victor Kunonga and poet Albert Nyathi among others.

Zifm station manager Tendai Madondo said the initiative was in line with the station’s tag line “my station, your station”.

“In line with our “my station, your station” statement and since we are a people’s station, we are going to where the people are, where our team can interact with the people,” Madondo said.

“We are going to meet the people, entertaining and educating them like witnessed today at Nando’s in the morning, now we are in Chitungwiza and in the evening we will be in Borrowdale.

“For the three years we have been on air, we have realised it is important to go out to where the people are and interact with them, giving them the music they like and prefer,” she added.

Next week, the team will be in Kariba while plans are underway to visit several other areas.

Some of the presenters who took part in the roadshows were DJ Fetstyles, DJ Smith, Taka B, DJ Eve and Jeff the MC.
