Donald Trump Under Fire (Again) For ‘Mocking Reporter’s Disability’

Donald Trump is under fire again.

This time, it’s for appearing to mock a reporter’s disability.
Trump was on the campaign trail in South Carolina last night and defending his claim that he saw ‘thousands of Muslims’ celebrating the collapse of the World Trade Center on 9/11.

While defending the claim, which has been definitively debunked, Trump appeared to mock a New York Times reporter’s disability by flailing and twisting his arms.

The reporter, Serge Kovaleski, wrote in a piece for The Washington Post in 2001 that ‘law enforcement authorities [in Jersey City] detained and questioned a number of people who were allegedly seen celebrating the [9/11] attacks’, something that Trump cited in defence of his claim.

In the wake of Trump’s comments, Mr Kovaleksi, who has a condition that affects joint movement, said that he didn’t remember ‘anyone saying there were thousands, or even hundreds, of people celebrating’.

Trump responded by telling the South Carolina crowd: ‘You ought to see the guy: “Err, I don’t know what I said. I don’t remember.”‘ He flailed his arms as he spoke.

A spokesperson for the New York Times told Politico: ‘We think it’s outrageous that he would ridicule the appearance of one of our reporters
